The Escapists Wiki:Admin noticeboard

The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

• This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
• Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
• Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
• Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
• Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
• For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Current Issues

On the crafting page, at the top is says, "...or clicking the "craft" button on the left side of the screen..." it is actually on the right side, not the left, and I am not sure how I can edit/fix it ^.^ 107.1.200.111 18:44, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Request: Only allow registered users to edit

The Crafting page is getting hit by Russian kids or something. It was in disarray when I first found it and I've been trying to fix it up, but since then (17 hours ago) the page was vandalized twice. Can we get some extra protection on this wiki without making it so only Admins can edit a page? --Rahlzel (talk) 19:10, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

From now on only autoconfirmed editors can edit Crafting. This should lower the vandalism on Crafting a lot. I have set the expiration date for this protection to half a year, so we will have to decide if it's still needed then. Corruption problem

Thank you guys for keeping up with the wiki while I was sick, I have a pretty severe stomach flu and it doesn't seem to want to go away any time soon. I'll take a look at the pages that were flagged for deletion. About the promotion.. There seems to be a error in my access permissions because I can't promote anyone. I'll contact Curse about this (Not meant as an insult, but I think that the guy that assigns the permissions isn't very familiar with Mediawiki).

As of today (5/2/2015) we are starting to migrate this wiki to a new hosting. Existing articles will be moved to this new wiki. Anyone is welcome to help migrate the wiki articles to the new location at http://theescapistswiki.cu.cc/ The new location does not have any advertisements and it will allow for me to promote users a lot easier than this one. The escapists, a fantastic game, has been released for PC and the Xbox one but not the PS4 which I found outrageous. I searched every website possible to see any info about it coming out for PS4 but no. There was one called PushSquare.com but it seemed a bit dodgy so I came back to the wiki hoping to see an admin announcing the release but once again no. I scrolled down a bit then it said something about an admin sure to see the problem you might have found so I am writing, wishing, for at least an admin to be luckily scrolling down and seeing my text to then release the escapists onto the PS4! It's not just me hoping the escapists to come out on PS4. Check on the website PushSquare.com ...... Others want it as well. So if an admin does see this PLEASE tell the team to start developing the escapists onto the PS4 console.
