Encurrent
  • 6 fully operational prisons complete with routines to give you a flavor of how it *really* is inside!
  • 10 separate job opportunities for you to sink your teeth into… If you have the knowledge to earn and hold down these employment paths of course!
  • 100+ unique Items for you to seek out and perhaps even craft useful items with. (Team17 fully endorse the use of various weapons such as ‘shivs’, ‘nunchucks’ and ‘maces’ – within a fictional setting of course!).
  • Various favor types for you to tackle offered up by inmates – you wouldn't want to go upsetting them now, would you?
  • Highly opinionated and incredibly funny inmates and guards to keep you on your toes as well as providing entertainment!
  • Multiple escape routes for you to work out and achieve the title of ‘The Escapist’!
  • A prison editor to play and create your own prisons.
  • Steam Leaderboard – Once you have escaped see how you fared against other successfully escaped players!
Enplanned
  • Confirmed Multiplayer has been announced
  • More items will be added as well.. As well as speculation of the Paperclip coming in handy (as a lock pick)
  • More prisons. Special prisons Can be accessed via clicking the wrench whilst selecting the prison. At this time there are 2 prisons to choose from... All of which making escaping VERY difficult. A third can be accessed by buying it on steam. You can view a 'tutorial' by clicking the links below.

And you're done! So now you can enjoy those REALLY hard prisons...

Xbox

The Escapists was released on February 13,2015 on the Xbox one. This version of the game is a little different then the PC edition here's a list of some

  1. the graphics have been changed a lot
  2. Items have different textures and different names (FlashLight is renamed to Torch on Xbox One)
  3. The in-game GUI looks much more different
  4. Crafting Notes are no longer a item instead they learned from crafting or by purchasing a tip from the Payphone
  5. Center Perks has no metal detectors unlike its PC counterpart thus getting away with contraband is easy
  6. Upon Completing a level, a cutscene will play showing a prisoner fleeing from a group of officers
  7. Tower Guards are more aggressive and can spot players even at night (Confirmed when escaping a lockdown on Shankton State Pen on Xbox One)
  8. Prisoner stashes do not spawn, meaning Keys of any kind can only be obtained through looting knocked out guards
  9. Guards have a chance of carrying either timber or Metal in their inventory (Compensation for the lack of prisoner stashes)
  10. The Orange Utility Key is now a Cyan/Light Blue color
  11. At roll calls, the prisoners stand in straight lines instead of randomly standing in front of the guards
  12. A wad of putty is not contraband
  13. A contraband bag is not contraband
  14. Molten plastic is not contraband
  15. The Xbox One edition has a console exclusive item (which is actually pointless as it has no uses) the Circuit Board
  16. When crafting, it shows you what the items you put in the crafting GUI make, however in PC you have to click "craft" to see what it makes

Bugs

Currently this port from the PC to the Xbox one does have bugs and may effect overall gameplay. The list is incomplete as of now so if their are any bugs please label them in this section and make sure it is a bug that can be recreated in-game.

  • Punching Bags: Their is a bug were no more than two successful trigger pulls would not register into the training meter resulting in not earning any speed at all.
  • Unecessary Heat: Their is a bug were the player can be accused of trespassing in a inmate's cell even if they have the mailman or library jobs, thus meaning that all mail and books must be given to the prisoners instead.
  • Self-Defense: Their is a uncommon bug were players can be wrongly accused of starting a fight with another inmate even though they didn't throw the first punch or if the hostile inmate hits the player and somehow raising the heat meter, officers will also Attack the player who fought back at the inmate.
