Cougar Creek Railroad is the first transport prison of The Escapists 2. The player is the only inmate of the prison and must escape in the allocated time. As it is the first mobile prison of both The Escapists and The Escapists 2, it is a very unique prison and sets the player up for more secure and developed mobile prisons such as Air Force Con or H.M.S. Orca.

Cougar Creek Railroad introduces the concept of mobile prisons or transport prisons. In these types of prisons, your cell is the only safe and allowed place available. Anywhere outside will cause your Heat to skyrocket. Materials for crafting and the recipes available are also preset, and the contents of all the desks combined will be the same in each playthrough. It is impossible to perform a standard Perimeter Breakout on mobile prisons, as there is no outside boundary accessible.

The setting of Cougar Creek Railroad is implied to be a means of transportation for the player, towards an unknown location where they will face execution.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Cougar Creek Railroad takes place on a train with a staggering number of cars. Each car fulfills a purpose; whether it be a Medic Room or containing contraband items necessary for any escape method. The front of the train is occupied by three Guards, all of whom are equipped with better Outfits and weapons than a standard Guard. A Contraband Desk can be found in one of the cars; therefore if a player loses their Contraband items upon being knocked out, they can regain them. This way no escape methods are failed, and can still be act out.

You and the vultures overhead know what fate awaits once this train reaches the end of the line. If you plan to see another sunrise, you'd better disembark by whatever means necessary.

Jobs[edit | edit source]

All transport prisons, like the Cougar Creek Railroad, does not have an employment system, as no money is required in order to purchase Contraband items.

Escape Plans[edit | edit source]

  • My Little Phoney - Use a horse to escape
  • Do The Locomotive - Take control of the locomotive
  • Loose Caboose - Separate the caboose from the rest of the train
  • Hooked on You - Use a grappling hook to escape

Ways to Escape[edit | edit source]

In Cougar Creek Railroad, there are four ways to escape. All of the items needed in each method are found in desks across the prison. Be wary of Guards, and should your Contraband items be confiscated, use the Contraband Desk to regain them.

This is a Singleplayer only escape, meaning that if you are playing in Multiplayer mode, you cannot escape this way.

Loose Caboose[edit | edit source]

This is a Multiplayer only escape, meaning that if you are playing in Singleplayer mode, you cannot escape this way.

How to escape:

  • Find all three Crowbar Escapists 2.png Crowbars in the desks on the train for one of them; one of which is in a desk behind the Multiplayer barricade. Open the door and access the desk in order to obtain the last Crowbar.
  • Run to the caboose. (the last car of the prison)
  • For each Crowbar Escapists 2.png Crowbar, use it on the connector that is connecting the caboose to the rest of the train (make sure all players are in the caboose).
  • You do not have to beat up the guard in the caboose to escape. The ending will not be affected by his presence.

Do The Locomotive[edit | edit source]

This is a Multiplayer only escape, meaning that if you are playing in Singleplayer mode, you cannot escape this way.

How to escape:

  • Beat up the guards in the engine of the train, which is at the very front of the prison. (This can be done having all the players wield a Baton. One by one, knock out a Guard without notifying the other two. Once he is knocked out, acquire his Metal Baton. As it takes time for the knocked-out guard to regain his outfit and clothes, you will have enough time to knock the other two out. A recommended idea is to assign one player in the Medic Room in order to knock out the Guards over and over in order to prevent them from getting their Outfit in a separate car. Use the Medic Desk if you desperately need to!)
  • Escape once all players are present in the engine and all Guards have been knocked out.
